Nick Cave, pt. II

“I had to get up, to get down, to start all over again,
head on down to the basement and shout,
kick those white mice and black dogs out,
kick those white mice and baboons out,
kick those baboons and other motherfuckers out
and get it on, get it on, get it on
on the day that you got born…”
Today I was randomly listening to the first album of Grinderman, side-project of legendary Australian singer/songwriter Nick Cave that I personally consider even more interesting than his main act, the Bad Seeds. For no apparent reason I just decided to look around the Web and see if the project was still going on, and I surprisingly and unexpectedly discovered that Nick Cave and Grinderman are going to release a sophomore album right on this month and then perform right here, in the city of Groningen (!), on the 28th of October.
Needless to say I had my ticket a few hours later. You just cannot miss such events, you are not really allowed to, it would be like missing a rendez-vous with your destiny. I was today listening to his music for a reason, actually: it is because every time I listen to Get It On (great song! – listen below) I just feel that breath of fresh air liberating my growing anger for not being able to quit everything and run out of all those things that are actually acting like a brake to my intense need for freedom; I think you can easily understand what I am talking about, especially if you know me a bit good!
