Angelo Romano (born June 19, 1982 in Mazara del Vallo, Sicily) is an Italian computer scientist, musician, football coach and passionate of politics, beer and girls.
He was born and grew up in Mazara del Vallo, Sicily, where he lived till his high school graduation in 2000. Since then, he has been living in Pisa, where he lived as a university computer science student until October 2007; he graduated at the Laurea Triennale level (kind of Bachelor’s) in late 2004, and achieved a Laurea Specialistica (Master’s Degree) in Information Technology on October 12, 2007. He also studied for five months (January-May 2004) at the University of Ottawa, located in the capital city of Canada, a city cool in all its senses. He then moved in Florence, where he spent an entire year working as a Web developer in a locally-based Internet company. On November 2008 he moved to Amsterdam, and he is now living now in Groningen (north of the Netherlands) since February 2009.
He is also a poor guitarist/bass guitarist/singer/songwriter known for his music works nobody cares about. He coached at the University League level from 2003 to 2007, with not particularly successful results. Angelo is a proud Sicilian, renowned US Palermo fan, expert of beer. His political stance is hard to be defined by others: he claims himself to be an “independent leftist”, because he feels to be too moderate for the radical left-wing, but also too radical for the moderate. He is a native speaker of Sicilian and Italian (the latter with a notable Sicilian accent); he is also fluent in English, and has a very basic knowledge of both Spanish and French. He is also currently trying to learn the Dutch language with little success.
